Spec Ops Advantage was conceived in late 2004 and was taken on as a hobby by it's founder Bart R. Heimsness a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Weapons and Medical NCO. Bart had been helping his retired buddies find jobs since 1999 - when he too retired from the U. S. Army Special Forces.

Bart has taken great pride in vetting the personnel on his list(s) and developed a database in order to keep track of all his contacts which has grown to well over 8200 personnel in the short time he actually posted the Spec Ops Advantage web site.

The web site was first posted on 29 July 2005 and shortly thereafter, Hurricane Katrina hit the US. There was an abundance of jobs available for rescue, security and law enforcement personnel - and the list of about 700 personnel grew into a very large list in a relatively short time. The response was superb from the community in helping each other to not only find gainful employment, but in taking up jobs to help those in dire need.

Spec Ops Advantage has definitely become a full time venture - and was formed into a legal company as of 1 Nov 2005. Bart has been working to revamp the entire site layout and the new site layout which you are now viewing was posted as of 15 Dec 2005 - and will be growing into database managment through secure server for our safety and security as well as the info that is passed to and from users of our site by September 2007.

The latest and greatest as of 23 July 2007 is our new job board. The acutal job board is located at: GWOTJobs.com and is fed back into our job area via RSS. All companies and job seekers are still vetted. We are working extremly hard to make the info and your personal security as safe as possible here on the internet.

As of 1 Jan 2008 Spec Ops Advantage was incorporated due to the tremendous potential of growth as well as the requirements by some contracting companies to deal with business entities instead of individual contractors.
